🚨🚨An Update from the VRV Owners🚨🚨
Uncharted Waters will turn to Calm Seas
While we are all navigating through uncharted waters right now, eventually this too shall pass, and we will once again enter calm seas.
After spending this past weekend with our guests at our three locations, we have been humbled by the grace, kindness, and support we have received from all of you. Thank you!
Current Status of our Industry
On Monday, 3/16/20, the State of Wisconsin issued a mandate, and the President issued recommendations regarding the restaurant business. These decisions were made after carefully listening to experts from various local, state, and national health organizations. Our local Madison/Dane County Health Department and our State Trade Association, the Wisconsin Restaurant Association, are the “gold standard” nationally with respect to best practices, safety, and education and their involvement was critical in coming up with safe practices that also allowed for people to continue to be employed in the hospitality industry.
In summary, the mandate:
Limited capacity of restaurants to 50% of their occupancy, or 50 people at any given time, whichever is less
Required social distancing between groups of six feet
Prohibited self serve salad bars, buffets, beverage stations
Prohibited self-packaging of food
On Tuesday morning, 3/17/20 the City of Milwaukee announced a prohibition on dining-in at all bars and restaurants. This was followed by an afternoon announcement of a statewide mandate by the Governor, closing all dine-in bars and restaurants and limiting gatherings to 10 people or less.
Hours of Operation and Special Offerings
We are evaluating which locations of ours will be open for carryout, curbside delivery, and delivery, as well as what hours we will provide these services.
Special Bonus Gift Certificate – A Win-Win
Please take advantage of a special promotion that is a win-win. For every $100 you buy in gift certificates online ONLY at https://vrv-madison.instagift.com/, you get a $30 bonus certificate that is valid for one year. This is a great way for you to thank a friend or relative, or to enjoy for yourself. It also provides current cash flow and future sales once we all get through this.
Support Local Businesses
If you are in a position to do so, please support your local businesses by doing business in person (where conditions are allowed and safe), online, by carryout, or by buying gift certificates. Your support is needed and sincerely appreciated! In addition to businesses, please also look for opportunities to help others in any way you can so we can all make it through this crisis together.
Stay safe and healthy,
Bill, Jack, and Robert von Rutenberg
